FAQ
Plain answers before you open a file.
These answers describe how LegalPro Law Corporation runs legal services from Market Street. They are general information — not legal advice. No solicitor–client relationship forms until conflict checks and a signed letter of engagement.
Is LegalPro a legal-tech subscription, a 'get pro rich' scheme, a claims-farming service, or a law course?
No. LegalPro Law Corporation is a registered Singapore law practice — a real firm advising clients on business formation, commercial contracts, conveyancing, regulatory compliance and personal legal matters under a signed letter of engagement. The .pro top-level domain is branding only; it denotes professional legal services, not a software subscription, document-template marketplace, franchise income programme, claims-farming operation or any form of legal training course.
We do not sell automated legal products, bar-exam academies or debt-relief guarantees. We do not farm accident claims or run “get pro rich” income schemes. If you are looking for a SaaS tool, passive-income funnel or law-school substitute, we are not that — we are solicitors you engage for scoped legal work with clear SGD fees. Website content is general information, not legal advice; no solicitor–client relationship forms until conflict checks and a signed engagement letter — see our Terms of Use.
How do consultations and engagement work?
Start with the contact form or call +65 6643 5192 with high-level facts only — not the entire archive. We schedule an initial consultation in person at 63 Market Street or by video to understand documents and deadlines. If we can help, we send a written scope and indicative fee estimate. A solicitor–client relationship begins only when you accept our terms of engagement in writing and we complete conflicts checks. Until then, do not send confidential or time-sensitive materials through unsecured channels.
What do fees typically look like?
Fees are quoted in SGD. Initial consultations are usually S$280–S$420 for up to 45 minutes. Fixed-fee matters — such as straightforward contract reviews or incorporations — are quoted after we see the documents. Hourly rates for advisory work are disclosed before billing begins. Retainer blocks start from S$1,950 per month for four advisory hours. Figures on the services page are fee estimate ranges only — not fixed packages. We revise estimates when scope changes.
What is a letter of engagement and a conflict check?
A conflict check confirms we can act without conflicting duties — for example, where we already represent the other party. A letter of engagement records parties, scope of work, fees, confidentiality and jurisdiction under Singapore law. Until both exist, browsing, emailing or attending an initial consultation does not create a solicitor–client relationship. Retainer arrangements use the same documents with a longer horizon.
How are matters handled day to day?
Each matter has a responsible solicitor who communicates directly with you in plain English. Updates explain what changed, what we need next and what it means for the fee estimate. We use secure channels for document exchange once engagement is confirmed. Files are not outsourced to unqualified staff without supervision.
How do you handle confidentiality and PDPA?
Client information is protected under professional duty and the Personal Data Protection Act once engagement is confirmed. Enquiry data on this site is handled under our Privacy Policy and the PDPA. Do not send privileged or highly sensitive materials through the web form before formal engagement. Legal professional privilege may apply to certain communications after engagement — not to casual website messages.
What do you not do?
- Guarantee litigation outcomes, regulatory approvals or immigration results
- Operate as a document-template reseller as the main business
- Run legal-tech subscriptions or automated legal products
- Farm accident claims or debt-collection leads
- Offer “get pro rich” income schemes or law courses as the primary service
- Provide general financial, tax or medical advice — we refer to appropriate professionals
Do you handle cross-border matters?
We advise on Singapore law and Singapore-connected transactions. Where foreign law or overseas filings are required, we work with trusted referral firms rather than holding ourselves out as full-service in every jurisdiction. Cross-border tax and estate questions are coordinated with your existing advisers where appropriate.
When is a solicitor–client relationship formed?
Not when you browse this website, submit a contact form or attend an initial consultation. The relationship starts when both parties agree in writing to terms of engagement after conflicts clearance — typically via an engagement letter and payment of any required deposit or retainer.
